The Ke Yona Team Search’s announcement has changed the lives of 18 young men. The team will face Mamelodi Sundowns at the Tshwane showdown.

Nedbank is making the things that really matter happen by exposing the players to other avenues and careers within the football space.

2013 Nedbank Ke Yona Team Captain, Collen Mashawa aka Baggio led his team against the then Nedbank Cup Champions, Kaizer Chiefs in the first ever Ke Yona Challenge. ““For me to not make it as a professional footballer proved to be a blessing in disguise as it resulted in me realizing my coaching abilities. Thanks to the opportunity provided to me by Nedbank, I am now working under four of the most respected football tacticians in the country and it has motivated me to take up a coaching course and help unearth other players just as Nedbank has been doing for the past three years” said Mashawa.

Mashwa also added that he is glad that Ke Yona includes educational and financial guidances for the young men. As part of the curriculum football administration, football management and financial education are included for the young men.

Head of Sponsorships and Causes Marketing at Nedbank, Faith Phoshoko said: “The Ke Yona Team search continues to be a testament to our commitment to ‘Making The Things That Really Matter’ Happen. Our vision at the beginning of this journey was to ensure we shape these young men and enable them to realize their dreams. We are excited to see the progress they have made both on and off the field.”
