Spinach porridge

Serves 4

Ingredients you will need

5 spinach leaves, cut into pieces

1 onion, grated

Pinch of salt

4 cups (1 litre) water

240g or 500ml maize meal


Place the spinach in a saucepan, add the onion and salt, and cover with the water. Bring to the boil and cook for five minutes. Add the maize meal and stir to mix. Simmer the porridge over a low heat for 30 minutes, stirring frequently until cooked. Serve with milk.

Move! TIP Diced pumpkin can be used instead of spinach.
