When Isidingo announced that they were bringing actress and TV personality Katlego Danke (37) on board, fans were over the moon. Who can blame them? They had missed this former Generations actress from the soapie scene. Though her fans were blessed with the glimpse of her pretty face on the Lotto show, it seems that was not enough for them.

Katlego needs no formal introduction as she is no stranger to our small screens.

Fans are happy to see that she is back to doing what she loves most – especially after she

parted ways with SABC1 soapie, Generations, on a bad note.

In 2014, 16 actors were fired after being involved in an illegal strike. It now looks like

more and more big names of actors who were fired from Generations are popping

up on some of Mzansi’s most-loved TV shows. Katlego’s return continues to prove that there’s life after Generations. The actress says she has been busy with other projects but she is thrilled to be back on television.

“It feels great to be back. I have been acting in films, so at least that kept the passion burning,” she says.

Katlego is a decorated actress with years of experience. She started playing the role of Dineo Mashaba on Generations in 2006, leaving behind her character as Keketso on e.tv’s Backstage, which she played for four years.

Katlego is set to blow viewers away with her new character that is totally different from the roles she has played before. She plays the role of Khothala Mokoena, who is married to Tyson Mokoena (played by Shona Ferguson).

Khothala is the head of a very successful business. She and her husband are the new power couple on Horizon Deep. Commenting on her new role, Katlego says, “Khothala is very gutsy, straightforward and intelligent. She’s quite different from the other roles I’ve

played in the past"

Fans can expect to see a go-getter. The character brings some woman power to the

Deep,” says the excited actress, who hails from the North West province. However, the twist is that Khothala will end up having an affair.

Katlego is one of the most private celebs in Mzansi. She managed to keep her pregnancy and the birth of her baby boy under wraps and still manages to keep him away from the public eye.

The TV star is taking motherhood in her stride. She is juggling both motherhood and her career with grace. “Being a mother is challenging but it is an awesome and lovely experience. Plus it’s an incredible responsibility,” says the proud mother.

Katlego, who holds a BA Degree in Theatre and Performance Arts from the University of Cape Town, says she's also busy with other things. “I’m busy with a few business ventures, which I hope will take off soon,” she says.
