Mbuyi Kasana shares her voice

Forte CommunityRadio 106.5 FM

What inspired you to become a DJ?

• Wanted to make a change in our communities by educating them through radio, youth and women were my main target as they are the  vulnerable group especially when it comes to abuses such as psychological abuse, Sexually and emotional abuse

What are some of the hardships you face in the industry?

• Working for a community radio is not an easy job,You dont have the priveledge of having a producer at the same time you must have a relevant content

What do you dislike most about your job?

• Lack of resources

How do you ensure that your content remains relevant to your listener?

• Research is the major key, keeping in touch with the relevant stakeholders and the major thing is to know lisence conditions

Would you advise young people to get into the radio industry.

• Yes especially if they are not looking for fame and money, Being on Radio is a calling because you have to work under pressure, produce quality programmes

because we are living in a challenging world (high risk of HIV,XDR,HUMAN TRAFFICKING, etc)and a presenter or producer, must produce relevant programmes that seek to speak, educate and deal with the above mentioned challenges.

Which quote serves as an inspiration to you?

• The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.” - Nelson Mandela Mandela
