Recently reports tell on a mum’s ordeal, Letti Mofolo from Tsakane, Ekurhuleni, who has been going through a very confusing and painful journey with her 32 year-old mentally ill son whom she wishes can be moved from Pholosong Hospital to a different institute so he can receive professional assistant.

She told the reporters that she has been sent from pillar to post even though she told them about violent outbursts and how she cannot cope with the situation on her own.

Reports say Letti begged, pleaded and cried to hospital authorities for her mentally ill son for help.

She spoke of her pain at her inability to adequately take care of her son at home as he was physically stronger than her and would often retaliate violently when she tried to help him.

Reports reveal that after several attempts for help, her son had been sent for observation at Sterkfontein weeks ago, he was released into her care again, only to be violent towards her again.

“I called the police yet again as he had been violent and not on his medication, because when he is home he defaults on it,” Letti explains.
