Music review: Mi Casa – Su Casa

The dynamic group, comprising vocalist-guitarist J-Something, trumpeter Mo-T and producer and keyboardist Dr. Duda, has only been together for 2 years and came together one night at a club. And in those 2 years Mi Casa have blown up on the back of their superlative hit "These Streets", which went on to win Record of the Year at the 2012 SAMAs.

Mi Casa has also solidified their growing fanbase with live performances around Africa that turn any venue into a heaving mass of happiness, a nation under a groove. For the group, it’s all about making sure their fans are having the time of their lives, and it’s a culture that continues on Su Casa, which clocks in at over an hour of 16 soul-and-booty shaking tracks.

Best track:

"Jika" – Eish that song does things to me. Mi Casa makes this look so damn easy. Also, a shout-out to "Feel the Love" ft. new kid on the block Jimmy Nevis – a Capetonian with a voice so sublime even J-Something gives up the lead vocals duties to the youngster.
