"We are excited about Muvhango, which has made huge strides and ensured that viewers are still glued to their screens 20 years later."

SABC 2’s popular Venda soapie Muvhango brings back the first 13 episodes of Season 1 starting this Friday, 07 July 2017, at 21h30 to 22h30 in celebration of 20 years.

Muvhango started back in April 1997 when it made its television debut as a 13 part drama series broadcast once a week. You would think that since they own the Mill, the Mukwevho’s would stop fighting; no not this bunch! Personal wealth has added to the conflict. Also thrown in the mix is love, power, money and heritage. The feud between families has escalated to other families as well including, the Buthelezi’s and the Mokoena's. The drama never stops. Will it ever end?

Jacqui Hlongwane, Programme Manager for SABC2 said: “This is a great milestone for a ground-breaking series that celebrates the Venda culture and language. Muvhango, a flagship programme for SABC2, has become a fixed part of the television landscape with millions of viewers tuning every day."

Hlongwane went on: "We look forward to more years of intriguing, enthralling and authentic storytelling that is Muvhango“.
