Nimrod Nkosi joins Isibaya

The Utatakho presenter, is no stranger to acting as he marks his return with style by joining star-studded cast of the much loved soapie, Isibaya.

Nimrod will be introdunced to the show next month, playing the role of Alfred Phakathi.

Phakathi, is the chairperson of Memel taxi association, with which Judas Ngwenya (played by Menzi Ngubane) and Samson Ndlovu (played by Bheki Mkhwane), plan to conduct their business.

"Without giving much about the role, I will be working closely with the famous two families, the Ngwenyas and Ndlovus," Nkosi said.

Nkosi has also starred in productions such as The Wild, Soul city and Scandal. He said when produces gave him a chance to audition, he gave it his all and they loved him.

Producer Kutlwano Ditsele confirmed that Nimrod will be part of the growing storyline of Isibaya.

"All I can say is that Nimrod is part of Isibaya. It is a small role and, since the whole story is developing, it is difficult to say if the role will be extended."

Ditsele said Nkosi's performance was excellent and had impressed the directors.

Nkosi is known for his presenting skills, having presented many game shows on South African television - from Jam Alley to The Lotto Game Show as well as Raise Your Game with former Miss South Africa Vanessa Carreira.

The two also hosted Live Lotto Draw on SABC2 for years. Between 2011 and 2012, he had a recurring role as Norman Sebeka on the defunct M-Net soapie The Wild. In 2013, he hosted the gospel-themed show John 14 on Mzansi Magic Music.
