Formed in 2006 when Boneye and Frasha met Gabu - who was an artist signed to a separate record label - the trio recorded their first single titled ‘Si Lazima Tu Do’. The success of the single strengthened their conviction to formalise the union as the group P-Unit.

Soon after this they were approached by Decimal Records to work on their debut album Wagenge Hao. P-Unit classify their brand of music under the genre of Genge, which is the Swahili word for mass. The group strives to entertain the masses hence their phenomenal success.

The popular hit “Kare” from their debut album continues to be a favourite on playlists across East African charts. Among their major accomplishments, P-Unit have performed with internationally renowned artists like Sean Kingston, P-Sqaure, Elelphant Man and Rick Ross in countries such as Nigeria, Tanzania, Rwanda, The UK as well as the US.

In 2011 they were nominated for a Channel O Music Video Award in the Most Gifted African East Video category.
