An Eastern Cape school principal and three staff members have been nabbed after being suspected of stealing food meant for the school nutrition programme.

Kubusi Combined School’s principal Zukile Ntlanzi and teachers Nomakhosazana Ncunani, Daniwe Jakuja and school caretaker Michael Dilika were arrested on Friday and charged with theft, before appearing at the Stutterheim Magistrates Court.

They were granted R500 bail each.

They were charged after being caught with theft of school nutrition groceries and gadgets such as computers and tablets. Police say they were arrested after the cops received a tip-off that the suspects were loading and transporting groceries worth R1000.
