Three pupils are expected in the Mthatha Magistrate's Court on Wednesday after being arrested with goods worth R120 000 stolen from their school during a burglary two weeks ago.

The 17-year-olds were released into their parents' custody after 24 tablets, a laptop and other valuables were found in their possession on Monday, police spokesperson Colonel Mzukisi Fatyela told News24.

The items had been stolen from a locked classroom at Joyi Senior Secondary School two weeks ago.

"The burglars broke a window to gain access to the building," Fatyela said.

Investigations led the Mthatha central police detectives to the trio, who live in Nyoka, Baziya.

The minors face charges of housebreaking and theft.
