Two men have been arrested for allegedly raping a teenager and a young woman in separate incidents, Free State police said on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, a 21-year-old foreign national allegedly lured a 14-year-old girl and raped her at the back of his shop in Bohlokong, police spokesperson Captain Zweli Mohobeleli said.

Mohobeleli said that after the incident, the man gave the teenager a packet of chips to buy her silence.

She was later found crying and the matter was reported to the police.

In another incident, a 26-year-old allegedly raped a 22-year-old woman at her home in Bohlokong on August 22.

It is believed the man went to the victim's home, knocked on the door and, when she answered it, he overpowered and raped her.

"The victim was able to give a full description of the suspect and he was traced and arrested," he said.

The men were expected to appear in the Bethlehem Magistrate's Court soon on charges of rape.
