Saving when shopping for clothes

  1. Wait for the sales. Most stores have sales after Christmas and in February and July.
  2. Factory shops are much more affordable. Most of South Africa’s big cities have factory shops in the city centres and in shopping parks.
  3. Lay-buy is an affordable way to buy because you pay the debt before getting the goods. Don’t be greedy; it is best to lay-buy at one store only and make sure you can pay them as agreed.
  4. If you need clothing for a special occasion such as a wedding, rather borrow an outfit from someone you know. Buy things that you can wear everyday.
