He may be a school drop-out, but this model dad is a music legend.

He started out as a dancer for music legend Sello 'Chicco' Twala in 1986. When the music maestro came to fetch him from school for a video shoot, he knew his teacher would never let him go, so he snuck out through a window. As physical punishment was the order of the day at schools back then, he knew it was not safe to return, so he decided to quit and take piano lessons instead.

Today, high school drop-out Mandla 'Spikiri' Mofokeng is a father of four and a successful musician.

In addition, he has discovered more musicians than many music veterans. And he has produced a series of hits for these musicians under his KalawaJazmee stable. Despite being so busy, he manages to produce for himself. He says that the industry just doesn't give him the respect that he deserves.

Most of the artists he started with, including Oskido and Mahoota, have become DJs. Others, including those he's discovered have disappeared off the scene, but he's still standing.
