Teach your child to say thank you

Set a good example. Thank people, including your child.

Use the words “thank you” in the presence of your child from a young age.

Talk about the importance of saying thank you with your child.

Never embarrass your child in public when they didn’t say thank you. Discuss it at home with them. And if your child did say thank you, praise them for their good manners.

Encourage your child to write a thank-you note if they have received a big present or favour from someone.
