Tomato Pasta Sauce

800g tin of whole plum tomatoes

3 tbsp olive oil

2 garlic cloves, peeled & cut into slithers

1 1/2 tsp of sea salt

½ tsp freshly ground black pepper

Handful of fresh basil, chopped

1 tsp dried oregano

2 tbsp Canderel granules


preparation: 5 minutes

cooking: 15 minutes

Step By Step

  1. Heat 1 – 2 tbsp oil in a pan & fry the garlic until soft but not brown.

  1. Add the tomatoes, some salt and pepper & cook fiercely, stirring constantly.

  1. As they cook the tomatoes will break up & release their juices. When this liquid has evaporated, remove from the heat, add the remaining olive oil, the basil & oregano, Canderel & more salt & pepper as required.

  1. Serve immediately.

Tip: if you do not wish to serve the sauce immediately, cool quickly and when you come to use re-heat thoroughly and at this stage add Canderel.
