Asylum seekers watch...

23 February 2012, 07:05

It is such a sad situation when politics and financial security are entwined together; you find that there are people who flee the country claiming to be victims of “crime”. The Afrikaner family that applied for asylum in the US have claimed that the country that they once felt as home is no more a habitation for such “peace-loving” citizens. I think if we were to take statistics, crime affects everybody in this country irrespective of colour of the skin. It seems that there are some people who have the notion to believe that Black South Africans are never affected by such cruelties. I think if Black people can complain about crime and decide to flee to other countries seeking refuge status, the whole country would only be left to the rule of the criminals. It is high time that the people of this country, the Rainbow Nation should stop complaining and fussing around, instead just take your cross and carry it, move on with life and do the best for your country. It is such an irony when it comes to land restitution and redistribution we cry foul play, when you talk equal employment opportunities they cry discrimination. No wonder Mugabe decided on land grabbing tactics taking the land by force from those selfish individuals who don’t want to share the country resources, whilst there are thousands of people suffering all over the country. It is high time we stop howling and judging others and be united of fight the scourges that affect us all in this country.
