Helen Zille versus Us

2015-02-03 12:58
As Premier of the Western Cape, Helen Zille is supposed to put us first but instead puts being national leader of the DA ahead of our little towns. We only see her at election times when she glorifies faraway actions whilst ignoring anything directly relevant to us.

As Premier, how could she have been absent during the many crises that have occurred in Eden District? Who is in charge when something goes wrong? Who do we turn too? How come no one is asking these simple questions that matter so much. We, simply, don’t matter to Helen Zille. She may collect the pay but she’s not doing the job of Premier for which she is paid to do.

It’s a conflict to be both Premier and Leader of the DA. And she chose to keep the perks of being Premier rather than lead the party in Parliament, promoting an inexperienced Mmusi Maimane instead. Did that benefit the DA or just her?

Zille leads from the rear whilst we remain alone on the front line of our lives. Pink Floyd stated it well in ‘Us and Them’, a song from their album called the Dark Side of the Western Province… err… Moon:

“Forward he cried from the rear
and the front rank died
And the general sat and the lines on the map
moved from side to side
Black and blue
And who knows which is which and who is who.”

Maimane may become just another part of the black versus white and those-who-don’t-do-what-Zille-tells-them conflict.

Only blind loyalists who’ve fallen for the celebrity trap don’t question Helen Zille’s wrongdoings. And the fearful, whether conscious to it or not, use the crimes of the ANC to justify the crimes of the DA instead of practicing logical and moral judgment where all crime matters and is judged accordingly.

In the end, the only way the DA may gain more notable power nationally is to continue to become more like the ANC. Their constitutions are basically the same, made to seem different only by attention seeking media. If the DA does gain leverage in Gauteng, the holy grail of cash, it’s sure to become incentive to increase the internal power struggle.

Then there are those White people who hang onto the DA as their false messiah. I mention them, in particular, because they are, strangely, what still determines the fate of towns such as Plettenberg Bay and Knysna. They need to awake to two realities, one where the DA has already betrayed it’s foundation which built it to where it is now – big business and BEE is what matters, not them. Secondly, they (which includes me) are a vanishing race in this country – between the ages of birth and five, only 4.7% of the population are White (that determines the demographics of the near future). The DA will continue to discard them because the battle for South Africa will be fought through the Black vote. And, if they ever wake up, the Coloured vote will determine the Western Province. Not this election but maybe the next. White people need to work on just being South African rather than White.

There are the DA leaders and the voters, the Them that rule and the fools that are Us…

“Up and down.
But in the end it’s only round and round.
Haven’t you heard it’s a battle of words
The poster bearer cried.
Listen son, said the man with the gun
There’s room for you inside.”

PS: I do not support the ANC. I state that because parrot commentators are always in the house. The wrongdoings of the ANC, no matter how many there are, do not excuse the wrongdoings of the DA. As some had hope in the ANC in 1994, so some have hope in the DA. History has proven that power corrupts. The DA is no exception. Big business is first in line to be served. Propping up false messiahs such as Helen Zille solve problems as much as ignoring them does. Our world, and, consequently, our lives are changing rapidly. There is a strong chance that our future is going to be tougher. I'd rather know why than be voluntary blindfolded. That has led to many charges against me for which i hold the DA most responsible - they do not want you to know what is happening. Stop succumbing to the blame game that gangs us by our skin. We need to abandon bias for truth. Take responsibility for your thoughts. Only we can set ourselves free! Truth for Freedom. Read my letter to Helen Zille. It matters because what is happening to my home town can happen to yours.
