I was asked why I don't accept Jesus as my Saviour

27 May 2014, 13:43
A few people asked me why I don't accept Jesus as my Saviour. I will keep it short and to the point. Here follows some of my reasons:
1. Matthew 4:8 Then the Devil took Jesus to a high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world in all their greatness.
This verse tells me the earth is flat. There is not a single mountain from where you can see all the kingdoms of the world. I know I am going to get referred to Luke 4:5.
Luke 4:5 Then the Devil took him up and showed him in a second all the kingdoms of the world.
The key word here is "up" to show Jesus the kingdoms of the world. This verse don't tell us the devil took Jesus around the world. It just confirm the flat earth cosmology of the Bible.
2. Mark 11:12 The next day, as they were coming back from Bethany, Jesus was hungry. 13 He saw in a distance a fig tree covered with leaves, so he went to see if he could find any figs on it, he found only leaves, because it was not the right time for figs. 14. Jesus said to the fig tree, "No one shall ever eat figs from you again!" And his disciples heard him.
Also see Matthew 21:18-19. To go to a fig tree for fruit out of season to get figs to eat is stupidity. Why kill a tree for not having fruit out of season? I think it is idiotic to kill a tree for no reason at all.
3. Matthew 17:3 And behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elijah talking with him.
There is no evidence for the existence of Moses or the Exodus. Jesus was talking to a mythical character. Jesus refers to Noah as well:
Matthew 24:37 And as were the days of Noah, so shall be the coming of the Son of man. 38 For as those days which were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day Noah entered into the ark, 39 and they knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall be the coming of the Son of man.
There was no global flood and these verses tell me the Jesus gospel is only myth. Just like the flood the second coming is also mythology.
This is a summary for why I don't see Jesus as my Saviour.
