Let's create the real rainbow nation

22 January 2014, 12:54

It is almost that time again, where we have to go out and vote for the party that we feel best represents our interests and has the most to offer to the people of South Africa. Unfortunately this is also the time for electioneering. We are and will be subject to a plethora of empty promises, public grandstanding, vows of reform and in some cases blatant lies. How then will we be able to see through all the smoke and mirrors and make the right choice?

Firstly would like to be clear that I am 100% opposed to the ANC leading this country any longer. Their record with regard to health, education and safety is appalling and if they are unable to succeed with these fundamental pillars of society after 20 years, how can they ever hope to succeed in the future. Never mind trying to deal with the more complicated issues plaguing our society. That being said I am not suggesting that you vote for another specific party, I am saying please vote for any party other than the ANC.

To those of us who are up to date with current affairs the list below won’t mean much and that is a good thing because you have already made up your minds who you will vote for. I am hoping however that those who haven’t yet made up their minds, those sitting on the fence because they feel they don’t have enough information yet to make an informed decision will benefit from list below detailing the ANC’s corruption record. If the scale of these transgressions aginst the people of this country are able to deter at least one person from voting for the ANC, I will consider this exercise a success

Let’s vote for good governance

Let’s vote for quality education and healthcare

Let’s vote for an efficient police and security apparatus

Let’s unite and fight to make this country the rainbow nation that we were all promised it would be.
