I WOULD like to add my voice to that of Bert Martin in last Monday’s Witness, calling for another compulsory truck stop and a second arrester bed on Town Hill.
Our home in Montrose is opposite the corner where so many accidents happen (below the Peter Brown off-ramp) and where, tragically, so many people are losing their lives.
We hear sirens every day as truck after truck experiences braking problems on that lower stretch, all too often resulting in injury and death.
Could the authorities please consider this as a matter of urgency?
There does appear to be a suitable stopping point just after the overhead bridge and I would plead that something be done to reduce the horrible carnage on this stretch of road.
