I WOULD like to complain about the state of affairs at Home Affairs (excuse the pun).
On May 20, I went to Home Affairs in Church Street to renew my passport.
I was there from 8.30 am to 12.15 pm. I have two complaints. There are no toilets for the public, only for the staff. Considering the number of people applying for IDs and passports, and the snail’s pace at which people are processed, this is disgraceful.
My second complaint relates to the seven counters available for IDs and passports, but only three were manned. Some of the time, only two were being manned. Here I feel it is only right to pay the woman who worked on counter number three a compliment. For the 3,75 hours I was there, she left her post only once, perhaps for a toilet break? When I was eventually attended to, luckily by her, she was most pleasant and efficient.
