BOYCOTTING Parliament on May 4 was not the answer for opposition parties. People voted these parties in to represent them, not boycott their positions. It was a very important speech on the budget and the future of our country, yet the parties failed the citizens who voted them in.
Our country needs to move forwards and the input of the opposition parties is vital, yet they chose to boycott proceedings. If they cannot represent the citizens who voted them in, then they should resign. With elections looming, citizens should see these acts as a slap in the face. Those MPs who boycott Parliament should be seen as cowards who think only of themselves. Boycotting Parliament is an act of insubordination and the public should see this clearly.
