U.S.’s Thaad is a game-changer

06 May 2016, 10:57  - Joyce.Jagaroo

GOOGLE Thaad to see the awesome potential that this defence system has for changing the world dramatically.

Not necessarily a peace-promoting change, but with military technology light years ahead of human cultural evolution, the next lessons in warfare could be very harsh indeed for non-Nato sides.

Now that the United States has the Thaad (Terminal High Altitude Area defence) anti-ballistic missile shield with a 200 km range and 100% effectiveness (way better than Patriot), the potential for future battles has shifted dramatically again.

Sure, the United States has fifth generation stealth fighter jets while Russia, China and North Korea don’t, but the less-funded armies always had the nuclear-missile card to play to protect them from a full air-superiority butt kicking.

As the 100% kill zone of a one-megaton nuke would be only 12 km, Thaad’s 200 km range will make any forces that are dependent on nuke threat extremely nervous!

How ironic that the advances in military technology will only lead us back to conventional ground warfare or the utter annihilation of the non-Thaad side. I weep for humanity sometimes as there are many who would ignore this clear technological fact and want to start World War 3 anyway.
