Medical Parole?

09 June 2014, 08:48

Medical Parole?

In the 20 years of our democracy in South Africa, we have seen and witnessed many a matter to which we have just raised our surprise and concern.

Many a prominent African National Congress Members had to in the 20 years face the might of the law - people like Alan Boesak, Shabir Shaik, andTony Yengeni but to name a few.

In most of the instances the individuals were made to face the might of the law, and was charged for their wrongdoing and sentenced to imprisonment.

Amazingly none of the abovementioned ever served their term of imprisonment as handed down to them in court.

Suddenly they all developed some kind of ‘terminal disease’ and were released from incarceration in some cases only after serving 2 months. Yet upon their release the terminally ill disease cured to such an extent that they were able to play golf, and party into the night!

Now we hear that our President has been admitted to Hospital to rest, as he is so exhausted after the run up to the elections, the selection of members to parliament, etc. etc…..

One need to wonder if this is not the first step by him, or a plan by the ruling government to also release him on medical parole during his tenure in office? We all know that he has tried every possible means to stay out of court to face the might of the law, well knowing that he is guilty of all those things that are labeled to him, but taken the circumstances this visit to Hospital might just be the way of the ruling party to release him from his duties so that he can relax in the absolute luxury of Nkandla that the taxpayers of the country built for him, surrounded by his many wives, and umpteen children, giving him the time to enjoy all those accumulated unorthodox riches that he managed to secure, and entertaining the likes of the Gupta’s etc in the visitors centre.

Should we wish him a speedy recovery, I don’t know? Maybe he doesn’t want to recover too much to be considered as medical unfit to be governing the country! Maybe this is the way the ANC is planning an honourous exit for him, how will we know? ***********************
