Nested Hierarchies

07 April 2014, 14:30

Nested Hierarchies

We all have heard the ‘argument’ from creationists that DNA could be an explanation of both an Intelligent Designer and of Common Descent.

I’ve never heard an ‘argument’ from any creationist trying to explain why DNA, as well as all other 'kinds' of life as we know it, fall into a nested hierarchy.

Can creationists tell us how a common designer explains nested hierarchies?

Creationists always refer to designed things such as cars or boeings or watches to try and show supernatural design. However, they never indicate why a 'Designer' always 'designed' life to neatly fall into nested hierachies. Designed things such as cars and Boeings and watches never fall into nested hierarchies.

To summarise:

We are trying to find a creationist response to the nested hierarchies of evolution. The closest we've come to are lame arguments that ‘common design’ looks just like common descent.

Of course, not only is that simply an admission of never having seriously compared the two, it ignores the fact that nested hierarchies are expected under common descent but never under common design.

I’d love to respond to arguments from our local creationists on how nested can hierarchies indicate common design.
