Respect President Zuma

19 November 2012, 12:01

The President of the Republic of South Africa has come under severe attack by those who wish they were him and in charge of the country.

At the head of this no holds barred assault of the president are the opposition parties, sections of the media and so-called independent analysts/commentators.

Of course some attacks come from within the ruling party - more especially from renegades who have fallen foul to party discipline and found themselves out in the cold. There are also some pseudo-intellectuals who use every platform to tear their own party to bits and pieces - some of those who intellectualise against the ANC are actually members of the national executive of the party who should have known better than to engage in self-defeating grandstanding.

The matters of grandstanding ANC intellectuals and ill-discipline within the ANC Youth Leave have been adequately addressed by the recent party national executive committee meeting.

Hopefully sanity will prevail from now henceforth.

Another worrying area is that of the attacks from outside the ANC. This space is occuppied by a minority that suffers from the delusion of grandeur that it can subvert democratic outcomes through the courts or through the tomes of their writings and attacks on President Zuma..

Through their concerted attacks on President Jacob Zuma they seek to weaken the ANC so that their prospects for takeover can improve.

All these attacks on President Jacob Zuma are wrong and must be stopped forthwith. These spurious attacks can only serve to polarise the nation and drag us back to our horrific apartheid us.

Let us be patriots and worthy citizens of the Republic, let us respect President Jacob Zuma.
