Safe or not As unbelievably illogical as it is, gun control would have us believe that if guns are removed from citizens, criminals will be rehabilitated, killers will take up social work, robbers will find gainful employment and rapists will transform into loving partners. That promised utopian world of safety and peace is obtainable if we just take the guns away from citizens. Gun control supporters are convinced their safety is dependent on removing citizens guns and that guns are responsible for all the violence and ills of the world. Convinced that all previous removals of guns which have turned out disastrously for citizens are a figment of imagination and impossible to happen. That the death of 262 million disarmed citizens by their own governments hand in the last century was the result of some mysterious, unpreventable and unknown cause. Convinced banning drugs has solved the worlds drug problem, the abuse of drugs and the resultant crime that feeds drug addiction is a thing of the past. Convinced that the prohibition of alcohol in the USA resulted in a sober non-violent law abiding society. Convinced that prostitution is a thing of the past and everyone is now sexually gratified and happy with their partners. Convinced that banning pornography solved sexual deviancy. Convinced if they look hard and try long enough, they can find proof that removing citizens guns will provide the promised utopia all the other bans also promised and failed to deliver. Convinced a gun ban is going to be successful this time and will work as they claim. Convinced that a gun ban and citizens disarmament will provide relief from crime, increase safety and not result in the massive death of citizens by government and crime and we foolishly believe them. Safe or not is our decision. It is our life that is on the line. Make that decision wisely and ask yourself how safe can you be if you disarm your family, friends, neighbours, anyone who can help you and the victims of crime. How safe will you be? Best you let others know it is not humane to seek the harm of others because something is feared that your safety depends on.
