The Truth about Ukraine, Nato and Mr. Putin.

Ukraine and Crimea are not the only countries to have experienced Mr. Putin kleptomania. Moldavia, part of Georgia, has also experienced Russia’s shoplifting. All these steals remind heavily of Hitler’s manoeuvres leading up to WW2.

As yet, the Euro zones have applied sanctions, which are slow in impact, but they are hurting Russia. Despite all this, fired up by nationalism and a muzzled press, Mr. Putin remains resoundingly popular.

Should Mr. Putin kleptocratic tendencies extend to the Baltic countries, which have Russian minorities, -the outward reason of land grabbing, something will happen.

Ukraine is a poor country, who wants a poor country or poor people? The Baltic countries are another kettle of fish.

The problem is Nato, which is essentially a paper tiger, all paper and no real teeth. The Europeans, since WW2 and their newfound prosperity do not like war, who does? The problem is that the Americans are tied down with ISIS and tired of going into battle for the Europeans. (Remember Yugoslavia-it was the Americans who finally went in and sorted things out). So the Americans are saying, “Fight your own battles,” which is not what the Europeans want to hear.

Much depends on Mr. Putin’s next move. Things are hotting up there, we are on the edge moving to WW3, but we are not quite there yet. War destroys everything, including common sense.
