To the ANC and beyond

11 April 2014, 11:13

If only the ANC would see that it is an organisation and not Zuma/Mbeki or a particular leader’s play field. The ANC leadership is now ZANC, they seem to be praising a mere man as righteous saviour of the poor, simply because they want Zuma to give them seats as Premiers, Ministers, etc. At the next ANC Conference will remove this ZANC along with its self-serving corrupt leadership that is destroying the imaging of the ANC and restore respect, order, selflessness and a just ANC that is for all South Africans. I see an ANC in the near future which the President will canvass for his own votes, and Premier that will canvass for its own votes, so that this protection cloak that shield a corrupt leader will vanish.

In the near future, I see South Africa changing its electoral system that will ensure that before someone is a Premier or a Mayor, they must prove that they can run a local ward successfully (this will eliminate the prevalent service delivery protests). A Premier/Mayor that will prove their competence in sunning a city/province before they can stand for election as the National President, A Parliament with each and every MP will be chosen from a particular jurisdiction within South Africa and not because they are close to the Party’s leadership, so that all of South Africa can be represented fairly.

This is an open letter to all in South Africa, but I hope that the ANC members will see this article and we’ll push for electoral reform within the party and the country so that such. We need to strip the ANC leadership of powers that make them immune to prosecution, free to pillage the state’s coffers and the expense of the party’s image. ZANC is damaging the image of the ANC and its dividing the country as a whole. The fact remains that there was an ANC before Zuma, and there will be an ANC after Zuma. As more and more people become dissatisfied with the corruption in the country, more people will vote for the opposition. I do hear sentiment such as ANC will rule till Jesus comes back (It is Blasphemous), yet the time will come that one day the ANC will be the opposition in this country, should we stand and do nothing (evil prevails when good men do nothing), yet a leader to lead the masses of South Africa will emerge and can change the minds of ordinary South Africans to change their votes and I do not wish for that day.

The ANC is the face of Freedom in South Africa, the ANC is the Face of the Anti-Apartheid struggle to the masses, the ANC is the face of hope, the ANC is the face of prosperity, but an ugly mask of corruption, self-serving and disloyalty to the ANC policies is starting to show its ugly head and will cloud the judgement of many south Africans, to see the ANC as the face of corruption, face of disenfranchise, the face of human rights violations, the face of segregation. To us, our parents, our grandparents, the ANC is still the only option as we had witnessed Apartheid and see its effects lingering on into today. Older generations will stop voting entirely as they have to feed their jobless children and grand-children as they struggle to find jobs or find their feet in a corrupt, disenfranchising system; the “born-free:, as they are called will vote objectively and they will see alternatives to the ANC and we’ll lose our grip of the country. We’ll sit on the side and watch others take over the country or even worse, plunge the country into a bitter civil war as we refuse to let go of government, all for a corrupt, self-serving few within the ANC.

The ANC is my ANC but Zuma is not my man if he cannot stand trial for his actions. Zuma should be praised for his government accomplishments and be held accountable for his government’s failures. The ANC need to be able to remove corrupt leaders from its leadership so that the party can continue to serve the people, simply because the ANC mandate to its leaders/its members and its supporters does not and will never include corruption, entitlement, self-serving and autocracy. We need an ANC that will not speak on behalf of a corrupt leader but will give the stage for that person to defend him/herself for such.

Maqabane (comrades) the next ANC Conference let us remember that the ANC must survive for ever beyond our lifetimes. Let us choose a leadership that will deliver to the masses and not just to a single man. Let us choose a leader that will benefit us. I say to all (black, white, coloured, Indians) Join the ANC and make a change where you live, make a difference everywhere in South Africa. Viva ANC Viva – i-ANC eka wonke wonke (the ANC is to serve all)
