Truth doesn’t care what you call it so don’t try to mislead people

20 August 2012, 11:53

Just a short note to point out the dishonesty some fall back on to excuse the unreliability of their scriptures.

They tell us that the scriptures are not science or history works but a spiritual work. Then we are taken further down the lying path with the hypothesis that it is wrong to measure the spiritual work against science and research or even logic.

Here is a far more honest approach: the truth is the truth no matter what you call it or what excuse you come up with to credit untruths/lies/inaccuracies.

The scriptures should at least qualify as works of truth, or truth treatises.

If science or research shows the scriptures as not accurate the latter does not deserve the reputation of being truthful or reliable or truth treatises.

So let’s not again hear the asinine rationalization that the bible is not a science or history book. It is either truthful or it is not. You do not require a so-called science or history label to insist on and expect the truth. If the bible says the earth is flat and the centre of everything material, it is a statement of fact it tries to relay to us, and if science says it is incorrect what the bible says, it doesn’t change the fact that the bible is unreliable as a consequence just because the bible is not a science book.

Can’t make it clearer.

No special categories should be allowed for lies to rule our world.
