Why is SA so ANGRY?

08 November 2012, 20:23

Sometimes I wonder if or why are South Africans are so angry?
Did our past hurt or damage us so much mentally? We are a such traumatised nation. We just ready to fight and destroy property or each other at a drop of a hat. We are so polarized its not funny.

Grown men and women cannot have a decent demonstration around issues like. work conditions, salaries, or service delivery. Property must be destroyed, people must be beaten up and even be killed. Why?

For things to change, I think we need a sure fire cure to get rid of these attitudes.

Look at the violent strike situations. People are prepared to destroy today, what they are going to need tomorrow, e.g. work relationships, trains, libraries, etc. What motivates us?

Again look at road rage situations. If the offender happens to be of another race than you, the anger seems to multiply depending on your degree of Whiteness or Blackness of your pigment. Spice it with the gender element. Close your eyes and imagine the superlatives that will be flying.

Can you see the trauma in our societal psyche?

I think a better solution to all this mess, is some form of aggressive mass debriefing and counselling for all SA citizens. Otherwise, our country is going down the drain, due to all these self destructive tendencies.

We need to be a compact rainbow, so that we can oppose this failing government before it is too late.
