Why not lift up our country?

27 February 2014, 10:10

The current government and their supporters are sceptical of the DA’s claim to be able to create 6 million real jobs.  But what is the current government doing?  It seems to me they are destroying real jobs.  There is way too much outsourcing.  But the worst is quite suitably demonstrated by the e-tolling system coupled with the news of another major increase in the fuel levy (not to mention that it comes at a time where the rand is not doing well).

I read a post by Mmusi Maimane concerning a statement by Shoprite Checkers, find the post at http://www.maimane.com/2014/02/shoprite-presentation-reveals-true-cost-of-e-tolling-in-gauteng/

Where is this all leading us?  Our country is struggling even as it is bursting at the seams with potential.  And our current government is only reinforcing those seams with the most expensive of materials.

Will the DA solve everything?  Well, definitely not in one go.  But I believe they are a step in the right direction, going back to strengthen the foundations of a healthy society just as Mandela wanted and just as all thinking citizens of this country want.  Yes, the ANC is as full of promises as the DA, but blaming apartheid for the lack of progress just won’t cut it anymore.  We need change.  If only more of our people would see what Lulu Pieterson and many others have seen; the DA is not a “white” party, it opposes racism and it is more concerned with the well-being of our country, lifting it up to praiseworthy status, than with self-enrichment and nepotism.

This voice will be lost in the ocean of others, many following the usual current to keep things in place rather than swimming a bit further to catch the waves of progress waiting to be ridden.
