Jewish community fights back after pig incident

2014-10-30 15:54

The South African Jewish community held a demonstration on Thursday against what they believe are rising levels of antisemitism, intimidation and hate speech against the Jewish community in SA. Watch.WATCH

Dear Sir,

Concerning the article, 'Contemporary antisemitism and how it manifests in our public discourse' by Yanir Grindler, the following:

He failed to mention that almost 3,000 years ago, Psalm 83:1-4 said about the issue: "O God, do not keep silent; be not quiet, O Lord, be not still. See how your enemies are astir, how your foes rear their heads.  With cunning they conspire against your people; they plot against those you cherish. 'Come,' they say, 'let us destroy them as a nation.'" Antisemitism comes a long way.

But there is a downside to it. God said to Abram in Genesis 12:3, 'I will bless those who bless you [the Jews]; and whoever curses you I will curse.'  If we carefully analyze it, it means that those who curse Israel will become lowly. So if South Africa persists in this, we will become a lowly nation.

Mr Grindler’s opinion is timely advice for South Africa to turn away from destroying itself.
