There are various reasons why some women decide to have plastic surgery. When you watch television, what you see is not the real thing. No one is perfect, but on television, everything seems so out of the ordinary. For example, women go to bed with makeup on their faces. Do you go to sleep with your makeup on? There is this nagging feeling that “I am not good enough, or he does not like me.”
Here are some reasons why women decide to go under the knife:
• Poor Self Esteem
• Trying to Please Someone else
• Everyone Else Is Doing It
• Dislikes Body Image
• Weight Loss
Poor Self Esteem
I’m sure that you know someone who is not happy with how she looks. It could be that she doesn’t like her nose, her lips, her breasts, her legs, or her buttocks. How often have you heard one of your girlfriends say, “Does my butt look flat?” Your friend thinks that if she looks differently, it will make her happy. Watching television with women looking perfect all the time, or seeing a model in a magazine doesn’t help either. She thinks plastic surgery is her only hope.

Trying to Please Someone
Another reason why some women have cosmetic surgery is because they are attempting to please someone else. When you see your husband or boyfriend looking at another woman, you start to wonder what the woman has that you do not have. You look in the mirror and you notice that your breasts are not big enough. You tell yourself that if you get larger breasts, your husband, or boyfriend, will stop staring at other women. The next time it happens, you repeat the same behavior. This time, you notice that your rear is not big enough, so you decide to have another surgery.
Everyone Else Is Doing It
This is a good one. Your girlfriend walks up to you and says, “Look at my new boobs, do you like them?” Your reply goes like this, “Wow! Where did you get them?” Isn’t that a weird conversation? It sounds like someone just bought a new pair of shoes and decided to show them off. Your friend tells you that a friend of a friend had her breasts done, and she liked how they looked, so she decided to get hers done. You friend also says, “All the celebrities are doing it. Look at how people stare at them. I want people to stare at me too.”
Another friend of yours thinks that she has too much belly fat, so she considers doing liposuction. Later on, you find out that your friend has an eating disorder. Your friend tells you that she likes to eat, but when she finishes, she throws up. She tells you that she eats more when she gets depressed. She has tried all types of diets, but they do not work. Her solution is to go under the knife.
Before making any decisions, maybe you would prefer to speak to someone who has gone through similar experiences.
In the end, all the reasons for having plastic surgery boils down to poor self-esteem. It doesn’t matter if someone else is doing it, or if someone suggests to you to get surgery. It’s how you feel about yourself. If you don’t like your face, your nose, or any other body parts, it means that you feel that you are not good enough. It’s time to start loving yourself. Look in the mirror and tell yourself how beautiful you look. Do it every day until it’s a routine. Before long, you will think that you are the most beautiful person in the world. Don’t take my word for it. Just try doing it and you won’t be disappointed.
