Dove Ad: If you don't get it, you're part of the problem

09 October 2017, 15:26

"Meerkat" says people need to "focus on the things that matter.

Erm, dude (or dudette), racism is an issue that matters. But, obviously, those who have never experienced it from a black person's perspective, will be the first to call "bullshit".

Dear Meerkat, the ad enforces an old, white created misconception that "being light skinned is better" and "dark skinned children are a mistake by God". If you don't understand this, I would suggest you Google old soap adverts which enforced this.

But hey, let's not divert from the real issue here, as you ignorantly put it.

No. It's not a storm in a tea cup. It's a problem that people of colour in this country deal with EVERY SINGLE DAY. And for you to dismiss it as just "a storm in a tea cup" shows just how prejudiced, and, dare I say it, racist you are.

But, you will obviously deny this and claim "you have countless black friends"... but we see through you, bru!

Do not be a racist.
