Drought relief

05 July 2016, 07:40

THANK YOU SOUTH AFRICA

We are a small agricultural community (cattle farming) in a fairly remote part of South Africa and in the razz-ma-tazz of daily life we sometimes feel that the world is passing us by. But when events such as the drought relief exercise happens to us, feelings of gratefulness and humbleness overwhelm us and make us realise that there still some really good and generous people left.

On behalf of all the members of Agri Moloporivier Agricultural Association, situated in the Vergeleë area of the NorthWest province, we want to thank every person that had a share in the drought relief we have received during the last couple of months. Your donations are a life line to us and will help us get through this extremely taxing period in our lives.

From the farmers who donated fodder, companies who supplied equipment, the people who transported it to us on our terrible roads, to the people who donated livestock feeds, money, time and effort to make sure that loads reach us – YOU ARE ALL HEROES IN OUR LIVES. Thank you a million times over. We do not have enough words to convey our message of thanks and can only hope that one day we will be in a position to do the same.

Below is a list of those known to us who have been involved:

NWK Limited (Pieter Coetzer), New Holland SA, Radium Engineering, Agrinet, Equestra, Jupidex,  John Deere SA, Obaro, Rovic Leers, TOTAL SA, Forkman.

Many farmers in the Koedoeskop area who donated the bulk of the fodder and made available their equipment and labour free of charge.

Capitalism is not exploitation

As the elections approach us, certain political parties are bound to get on their soap boxes and trot out the same old slogans. Amongst these ideas will undoubtedly be a category based on the idea that "capitalism is exploitation". Read more...
