There was a point where some South Africans if not most thought that there was hope that Julius Malema could one day lead South Africa. The dream is slowly fading away as Economic Freedom Fighters is now just been reduced to just another opposition party like COPE. A lot was expected from Julius Malema’s EFF but the party failed to even win one municipality instead, it went and sold black votes to the party which Mr Julius Malema once labelled party which protects the capitalists and white privilege. EFF under Julius Malema’s leadership has changed the South African political landscape but still failed to attract more voters.EFF participated in selection of new public protector advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane and voted for her with the African National Congress (ANC) and other political parties, Democratic Alliance being the only political party voting against Adv Busisiwe Mkhwebane to occupy public protector’s office. Julius Malema’s EFF did not do proper research before voting or endorsing the new public protector, a move which add to some of Julius Malema’s regrets which includes supporting President Jacob Zuma’s rise to power. The media has played a big role in the EFF and Julius Malema’s growth, especially ANN7 which was later barred from covering EFF’s events by Mr Julius Malema. What really happened to the man which the media once painted political monster to sudden change and become a political messiah. The media makes it look like it is difficult to forgive the mistakes of President Jacob Zuma but easy to forgive what Julius Malema’s has said or done in the past. President Jacob Zuma and Mr Julius Malema are just flip of the same coin. They all feed on public sympathy, they have been in politics for long enough to know how forgiving South Africans are. The political battle between Mr Zuma and Mr Malema has forced Julius Malema to sell black votes to white party “ as labelled by Mr Malema” in order to settle political scores. No one will never know the real reasons for EFF’s trip to London which a lot has changed since then. The question which remains in South African’s households is, can Julius Malema be trusted. EFF branches which questions Julius Malema’s decisions get disbanded. Party members who are seen as threats to Julius Malema’s presidency are chased out labelled ANC agents. One can ask what type of president Julius Malema will be if EFF won national elections. Was Julius Malema quoted out of context when he said he will take the government through barrel of a gun. Will South African citizens be safe under Julius Malema presidency? Is it possible for EFF and Julius Malema to come with fresh ideas other than copy and pasting of African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) ideas and policies, What will EFF’s foreign policy sound like. Is Julius Malem ready to lead South Africa?
