To respond to her latest article, the DA is not fear mongering and the evidence is there to support this.
Let me remind the reader of the unfortunate events in Nelson Mandela Bay where the ANC and EFF and others conspired illegaly to unseat the DA led coalition. Further there were the motions of no confidence in Pretoria/Tshwane brought by the very same antagonists.
Add Patricia de Lilles' antics, an obstructionist Freedom Front Plus and a handful of other smaller parties and the potential is there for a ANC/EFF led coalition to takeover here.
Anything is possible in politics and the DA has rightly used the ANC/EFF alliance of corruption as part of its electioeering here.
Although such a coalition is unlikely because of a likely big voter abstention from ANC supporters (due to pathetic Metro Fail service - just the other day further train arson as well as housing service provision failures seen in a national context), one cannot count on this none the less.
So I would say to Melanie that you are being mischievous. Further, I would not place too much emphasis on polling predictions and previous statistics. The people here are happy with the DA by and large. But we don't sit on our laurels and are vigilant which is why we are cautioning against the corruption coalition.
