The ANC is talking up 'land reform' in a big way. But what precisely is it? Is it land to be given to previously disadvantaged people for farming purposes? Then why have approximately 80% of such farms failed so far? Continuing to do this simply doesn't make sense.Farming is an extremely complex business these days. It requires specialist knowledge of crops, fertilisers, irrigation, diseases and marketing, amongst others, not to mention a lot of hard work. Extensive training is required for farms to become a success. Is this taking place?Or is 'Land Reform' simply giving previously disadvantaged people a parcel of land? I am all for people possessing title deeds to land, but apparently many people who have been given land have simply sold it in order to make money. (This has also happened in many cases with RDP houses.)Malema equates 'having land' with 'money'. Just how does this work? If it means taking over land and existing buildings for which people have been paying off bonds for many years, that will be the start of a civil war. So exactly what IS 'Land Reform', ANC? Please would someone spell it out for me. Because if we follow Zimbabwe's route, we will inevitably fail as a country. And EVERYONE will suffer.
