Oh boy, we are certainly in critical times. Zuma and his cohorts have been behaving as if they had ultimate power. And they did - until now. The gangsterish attempts by the ANC ( who tell the Hawks (Sparrows?) what to do) are clear evidence of desperation. Effectively, what the clump of Zuma gangsters are doing in their blatant attempts to pull down Pravin Gordhan (having been forced by business and wise ANC heads to put him in power) is BETTING THE WHOLE OF SOUTH AFRICA'S ECONOMY AGAINST THEIR OWN SELFISH POCKETS. Zuma hates to be forced to backtrack. But in recent months, he had had to. Over Nkandla. Over the stupid appointment of Van Rooyen. Now he and his pet Hawks are STILL trying to pull back the power into their own hands. What's at stake? Our whole economy. If we descend to junk status, billions of rands will be pulled out by foreign investors who are not allowed to invest in countries of junk status. We will need to borrow money - at a massively increased interest rate. Our rotten services will decline even further. The poor will get poorer. And all because our spineless president wants to pretend he's still a 'chief'. And his close cohorts know that if he falls, their whole pack of corrupted cards also comes tumbling down. So will it be Zuma's men or South Africa? Maybe the forthcoming municipal elections will tell. Because we are now all on a knife-edge.
