1 dead in Limpopo helicopter crash

Johannesburg - One person was killed and another critically injured when a helicopter crashed on Thursday into the veld in Masenkweng, 30km outside Polokwane, paramedics said.

"One person died on impact and another was airlifted to a hospital in a critical condition," ER24 spokesperson Derrick Banks said.

"The crash happened at about 14:30. The cause of the accident is unknown and will be investigated."

Banks said various emergency personnel were on the scene of the accident.
