Child killed, baby injured in head-on collision

Cape Town - A 4-year-old child was killed and a three-month-old baby was injured in a head-on collision in Cape Town on Saturday.

The crash involved a BMW and VW Polo which collided in Valhalla Drive, Kalksteenfontein on Saturday morning, provincial police spokesperson Constable Noloyiso Rwexana confirmed.

“[The] child was fatally wounded, while [the] baby sustained serious head injuries,” she said.

Police and paramedics were on scene to treat the injured.

“A case of culpable homicide is being investigated," Rwexana added.

"No one has been arrested at this stage."
