Durban - Police are searching for a man they believe to be a serial rapist who allegedly raped four children near Cato Manor on the same day.
The children, aged between 10 and 14, were lured into the bushes near Booth Road three weeks ago by a man who promised to pay them R1.
Police compiled a composite sketch of the suspect based on descriptions from the children.
Police spokesperson Major Thulani Zwane said the rapes had taken place near a sports ground.
“This incident took place at the Cato Manor sports grounds where the man lured these children to go and fetch fruits in a bush, promising to give them R1 each,” he said.
“The man in [the] identikit is between 30 and 35 years old. He is medium built and tall in height. He is dark in complexion and has pimples at the back of his head,” Zwane added.
“The suspect has an overbite and speaks IsiZulu. Anyone with information on his whereabouts can contact SAPS Brighton Beach FCS detective, Constable Dludla on 083 295 4169 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.”
