Passengers jump off burning Cape train

Cape Town - Thirteen people were injured when they jumped off a train which caught fire between Soetendal and Hebron stations near Wellington, Western Cape emergency services said on Monday.

Spokesperson Robert Daniels said the train caught fire after an apparent electrical explosion at around 19:00 on Sunday. This caused the panicked passengers to jump off the train.

The group was taken to a nearby hospital and clinic for further treatment.
