Pupil's body found in school's pit toilet

Polokwane - The body of a Grade R pupil in Limpopo has been found in a pit toilet at his school, it was reported on Tuesday.

The little boy was found dead at Mahlodinela Primary School in the Sengatane Village, outside Seshego, eNCA said.

The child had been missing for several hours, provincial education department spokesperson Phuti Seloba told the news channel.

Seloba admitted that the school only had pit toilets.

When the school year started last week, many pupils and teachers in the province complained of a lack of basic resources such as proper toilets and roofs over classrooms.

- A previous version of this article incorrectly stated that the dead child was a girl. News24 regrets the error.
