Johannesburg - A 25-year-old woman was hit in the face with a knuckle-duster and then stabbed to death with a pocket knife, allegedly by her stalker ex-boyfriend who had tracked her down to a security complex in Fourways, north of Johannesburg, Beeld reported on Wednesday.
Andrea Venter, an auditor from Rustenburg, moved to Johannesburg three months ago to get away from her 30-year-old ex-boyfriend, against whom she had obtained an interdict in 2008, her brother, Kobus Venter, told Beeld.
But the former boyfriend phoned no fewer than 33 auditing firms in Johannesburg to find her, and once he did, he started phoning her repeatedly at her office, said her mother, Annatjie Venter.
She said her daughter told her: "You don't know how dangerous he is."
On Monday, the man went to the Sibaya Sands security complex in Fourways where he broke her nose by hitting her with a knuckle-duster.
She tried to run away but he followed her and allegedly stabbed her to death in front of a security guard at the entrance of the complex.
He then tried to cut his own throat.
Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Tshisikhawe Ndou told Beeld the man was expected to appear in the Randburg Magistrate's Court once he had recovered from his injury.
