Apology not accepted, SA tells #BellPottinger

Cape Town - South Africans took to Twitter to question the sincerity of the apology made by international public relations firm Bell Pottinger.

The firm issued a detailed statement on Thursday apologising for the work done for the Gupta family and Oakbay Capital. The Democratic Alliance (DA) has alleged that Bell Pottinger stoked racial hatred in South Africa in the work they did for the Gupta family and Duduzane Zuma, President Jacob Zuma’s son.

The statement says that a lead partner has been dismissed and that a law firm, Herbert Smith Freehills LLP, has been hired to review the account and the work done for it.

1. Some South Africans immediately rejected the apology.

2. Others saw the lighter side of the apology.

3. President Jacob Zuma did not escape criticism either.

4. Bell Pottinger's Wikipedia page was also under attack.

7. This pretty much sums it up.
