Cape Town to face water restrictions

Cape Town – The city of Cape Town announced that level two water restrictions will be implemented from January 1.

The city said in a statement that the restrictions are set to save 20% of the city’s daily water usage.

“With level 2 restrictions approved, residents will be charged according to 20% reduction tariffs to discourage greater water-use efficiency.”

The public will only be able to wash vehicles with hosepipes fitted with an automatic self-closing device.

Residents are also encouraged to replace all taps, shower heads and other plumbing components with water efficient parts or technologies.
