WATCH | Drone footage reveals tons of rotting sargassum seaweed swamping Mexican coast

Mexico's once prestige beaches are now covered in an endless brown mass, as thousands of tons of rotting sargassum seaweed pile up across the eastern coast.

It's estimated that the clean-up cost could be as high as $2.7m, not taking into account the impact it could have on the country's tourism industry.
